The Production

(resource-saving, energy-saving)

Of course, our production is energy-intensive. This is why we introduced an energy-saving management system back in 2013, in which we identify annual energy efficiency measures with external support.

The first step was the switch to LED in 2014

What sounds almost self-evident today led to us saving almost 75 kWh of electricity per year after 2014.

We also introduced heat recovery on our air compressors in 2013.

This saves us approx. c. 400,000 kWH of gas
and 80.4 tonnes of Co2 per year.

In 2023 we decided to replace a natural gas furnace with an electrically operated crucible melting furnace.

The consequences
Loss of Gas = 742.786,07 kWh/ a
Co2– saving= 149,30 t/ a
Power consumption = 138.005,46 kWh/ a
Co2– Emission= 50,51 t/ a

To compensate for the increased electricity consumption, we invested in both a more energy-efficient induction system and a photovoltaic system. This makes us one of the first companies in Germany to operate a gas oven using photovoltaics.

The consequences of the induction system:
Electricity consumption= 252.302 kWh/ a
Co2-saving = 273,04 t/ a
Die Photovoltaik-Anlage:
Generation of the system = 276.000 kWh/ a
Co2– saving= 185,50 t/ a

The material

(resource-saving, energy-saving)
Aluminum is a great material because it is really easy to recycle. Quite apart from the fact that it conducts heat very well and is lightweight. Thanks to its conductivity and the fact that aluminum is recycled again and again, our cookware is doubly sustainable. Because its conductivity saves energy when cooking. You can find more information about aluminum here.

The packaging

(resource-conserving, energy-saving, social)
Of course, we also have to pack our goods. And we do this as environmentally consciously as possible:
1. our non-woven bags are made of non-woven material and produced in an environmentally friendly way: they are water-repellent and can be reused. So you have one more shopping bag.
2. instead of padding film, we use Karopack’s padding cushions – they are made from 100% recycled material, can be reused and disposed of in waste paper.

Made in Germany

(resource-saving, energy-saving, cost-saving, job-preserving)
Made in Germany not only stands for German workmanship, but also for production and therefore jobs in Germany. Nevertheless, we also have to buy and, of course, sell goods. And these goods have to be transported. Whenever possible, we try to source our goods in Germany – also to save on transportation routes and thus protect the environment.

The colleagues

(resource-saving, energy-saving, healthy, fun)

People work for us and most of them come to work every day. How they get to us depends on their route to work, of course, but we think it’s great if they do so as environmentally consciously as possible. Together with Business Bike, we therefore offer our colleagues the option of leasing a bike. Incidentally, most people opt for an e-bike. Because if you live in the Sauerland, you’re grateful for a little support with all those hills. And of course you can also use the bike privately or only privately.
